Nicoletta has illustrated over 350 children?s books and volumes for which she often also has written the texts, her main Italian Publishers are EL Editore and Franco Cosimo Panini Editore.
Nicoletta has been awarded various International literary prizes for many of her books, among which 2 Christian Andersen Awards and a Grinzane Junior Award specifically awarded for her character Giulio Coniglio.
Her most famous character is Giulio Coniglio an overly timid rabbit, but good natured, with long fuzzy ears and a great passion for carrots. Nicoletta is most loved, not only for her original and amusing characters but also for her very simple yet very clear and distinctive graphic mark which is easily recognized and often imitated by the same children.
Nicoletta Costa has been described as one of the greatest interpreters of "planet childhood" thanks to her fantastic ability to preserve the child within herself.
Since 1980 Nicoletta Costa has been narrating stories with words and images expressed from a child's perspective, her 350 books have helped to discover and understand how children think and behave.
